Getting a Value for Classic Car or working out Grades for condition can be challenging here’s how we break it down…
Grade 1 – Complete Restoration Required -Â Typically this is your non-running vehicle in need of complete mechanical and cosmetic overhaul. The vehicle may well come with paperwork but won’t just start and drive or may not have been started yet. These vehicles will be the cheapest but require the most financial and time investment to complete them. Don’t expect to jump in and drive it and you will almost certainly need a trailer to collect it.
Grade 2 – Running Project -Â These tend to be running, driving, braking. They will either need further mechanical work or enhancement and may well need cosmetic or chassis work. They offer a strong platform on which to build from. We would typically sell one of these with registration paperwork in place.
Grade 3 – Ongoing Project -Â These are usable vehicle that mayr equire additional work not yet fully seen due to limited use or may just require fresh paint or cosmetic work. The vehicle is for sale as totally usable but have individual projects to do and is mainly made up of original parts that may show age related wear.
Grade 4 – Complete Original Vehicle – These tend to be completely restored, repainted and reupholstered vehicles. Fundamentally privately owned and driven with plenty of test miles. On the whole you wouldn’t really expect to have to do to much to them however many parts may still be older and may exhibit signs or wear or need replacing.
Grade 5 – Concourse or Total Restoration -Â These vehicles have had nut and bolt restoration, beyond the chassis itself the everything is pretty much new or nearly new. For all intents and purposes it’s like a new vehicle.
