Whether it’s a European Ford Fiesta or Escort or an All American Ford Mustang for has it’s place in UK car lovers hearts…
Ask anyone to name a brand of car and there is a strong likelihood that they will say Ford. Ford is one of the oldest and most iconic motoring brands in the world, selling cars for over 100 years in just about every corner of the globe. Even today in the UK Ford is one of the biggest players with plenty of market share and their cars are a “go to” for each segment for comparison. When it comes to Classic Ford cars there are two distinct sides of the coin with a group of different followers for each.
First of all you have the European Ford’s, the Ford’s that were built in Dagenham. This includes classic Ford Escort, Fiesta, Capri and a whole host more. Whether it’s a Rally Spec Escort or a Fiesta XR2 they have a place in the hearts of many. Specifically cars from the 70’s to the 90’s and in truth many of the more modern ST branded cars will follow suit in time to come much like the beloved Cosworth cars. Values for these cars have sky rocketed in the last few years. There really is something special about jumping in a Fiesta XR2 1.6 which has been cammed and carbed and racing off down the street. Classic Fast Ford is without a doubt full of fun and heritage!
The second set is Classic American Ford product. Typically summed up by the iconic Ford Mustang which from the 1960’s with MK1 and MK2 capturing the imagination of car fans the world over. The Fox Body Mustang has also come into it’s own now and we’re seeing values increase monthly. Even the S197 Mustang of the mid 2000’s is popular choice due to it’s muscle car stance. F series trucks also have massive following in the UK. Ford American Trucks like the F100 and F150 are firm favourites. But we can’t forget about some of the little gems from the USA like the Ford Falcon, Ranchero and even going back the ultimate Hot Rod – The Model A!
